Glysantin G30 coolant is a silicate-free radiator antifreeze based on OAT, which is used to effectively protect the cooling circuits of internal combustion engines with water cooling from high and low temperatures.
The name comes from the fact that Glysantin G30 is an OAT radiator antifreeze that contains no silicates, but only organic additives. OAT stands for "Organic Acid Technology". An OAT coolant that also contains silicates is known as HOAT, "Hybrid Organic Acid Technology".
Glysantin coolant: what are the differences?
One of the most frequently asked questions about coolants: What are the differences? Isn't coolant the same as coolant? A widespread misconception: Glysantin is the same as Glysantin. Before you buy coolant in the ATO24 online store, we explain why this is not true and how to find the right coolant for your car or motorcycle!
Like all other coolants, the products in the Glysantin coolant product series differ in their specifications and approvals, which they fulfill. After all, not every coolant can be filled into every car. You must use the information in your vehicle manual as a guide. Here you will find either a specification according to the Glysantin system (i.e. a specification such as "G30", which directly indicates a product), one according to the Volkswagen system (e.g. "Use G12+ coolant") or a release such as VW TL-774-D or Mercedes-Benz MB 325.3.
You can now clearly determine the correct Glysantin coolant according to this specification or release. Alternatively, you can use the Glysantin approval list, which allows you to allocate the coolant by car make and year of manufacture.
OAT coolant: Ideal for use in cast iron engines with aluminum heads
So-called heavy-duty engines and passenger car engines produced between the late 1990s and the early 2000s often have one thing in common: they have an engine block made of cast iron, an iron-carbon material, and cylinder heads made of aluminum.
The decisive factor in the selection of a suitable coolant is the material. While gray cast iron usually has a high compatibility with the silicates used in Si-OAT or HOAT coolants, the cylinder heads made of aluminum can be attacked by them, which in the worst case can result in a creeping destruction process.
With Glysantin G30, you can obtain a silicate-free, purely organic, OAT coolant from ATO24's online store, which counteracts such complications in cast iron engines with aluminum cylinder heads!
Glysantin G30 corresponds to VW G12+ (TL-774-D/F)
Glysantin G30 can be translated directly into the system for antifreeze developed by Volkswagen: It conforms to the VW G12+ standard and the VW approval VW TL-774-D and VW TL-774-F, which the Glysantin G30 radiator antifreeze and rust inhibitor has received from Volkswagen. Glysantin G30 can therefore be used in the following Volkswagen Group passenger cars
- VW with from production date 1997 until August 2008
- Audi vehicles from 1996 to July 2007
- Skoda mti year of construction 1998 to August 2008
- Seat from 1997 to 2007
- Porsche from 1996 to 2009
Please note that there are several newer releases for coolants in the Volkswagen group and check if you have to use a coolant after one of the subsequent releases. An overview of all approvals according to the Volkswagen G Standards can be found in our blog article "Which coolant is right for your car?".
Approval for vehicles from Mercedes, BMW, Mini
Glysantin G30 has been granted Mercedes-Benz approval MB 325.3 or MB 326.3 for use as a corrosion protection agent in Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle engines without secondary water retarders (SWR), such as the Mercedes-Benz engines OM 300, OM 400, OM 500 or OM 904 to OM 926.
It is essential to check the compatibility with your Mercedes engine before use by means of sheet 320.2 of the Mercedes-Benz operating instructions. You need a coolant according to the Mercedes-Benz coolant approvals for car engines 325.0 or MB 325.6? No problem! The Glysantin coolants Glysantin G48 and Glysantin G40 are also available HERE and other coolants at the ATO24 Online Shop!
Since Glysantin G30 antifreeze is approved for use in BMW LC-87, it is suitable for use in a wide range of BMW motorcycle models and all Mini models with gasoline engines built in 2001 or later.
The manufacturer BASF also recommends Glysantin G30 for use in Alfa Romeo passenger cars from 2006, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles from 2011, Citroen vehicles from 1993, Fiat from 2005 and Harley Davidson motorcycles and Honda motorcycles.
It furthermore can be used in Nissan passenger cars from production year 1982 and Renault from 1995. Further recommendations for use can be found in the adjacent list.
Glysantin G30 Ready Mix or concentrate?
Glysantin G30 products are available as a practical Ready Mix or as a concentrate variant. While the Ready Mix is a coolant already prepared for use and filling, Glysantin G48 concentrate must be mixed with (distilled) water. The following mixing ratios are recommended:
Mixing ratio 1:2 (30% Glysantin G40 + 70% water): Frost protection down to -20°C
Mixing ratio 1:1.5 (40% Glysantin G40 + 60% water): Frost protection down to -27°C
Mixing ratio 1:1 (50% Glysantin G40 + 50% water): Frost protection down to -40°C
